The documents to be submitted depend on the type of application, but generally speaking, it is important to consider the following:
- In case of a figurative or word + design trademark, it is necessary to submit six copies of the label in paper, with a minimum size of 5 x 5 centimeters and 20 x 20 centimeters maximum.
- If the owner is a company, it is necessary to submit a single copy of the authorization documentation attesting the representation of the owner.
- If acting through a representative, it must submit the corresponding power of attorney. The power of attorney should at least be a simple document signed before a notary. If the power is given abroad, it shall be legalized before the corresponding Chilean consulate. Regarding the drafting of the power, it is important that expressly states the power to request the application and perform all necessary procedures for obtaining the registration, and other powers that each applicant can determine freely.
- If the application is submitted via the Internet, and the applicant is a company or is acting by a representative, once the application is given the application number, it is necessary to send the power of attorney by certificate mail.
